Official Rules

Low Ball is one of our most exciting fundraising events, combining strategy, luck, and great company for an unforgettable night. Designed to be fast-paced and easy to learn, this game gives everyone a chance to jump in, have fun, and support a great cause at the same time.

Whether you’re a first-time player or returning for another round, this guide outlines the official rules and how the game works so you can come prepared and confident on event night. From buy-in details to how each round is played, everything you need to know is right here.

Buy-In & Chips

  • The cost to play Low Ball is $100 per player.
  • Each player receives $100 in poker chips:
    • Red chips = $5
    • Blue chips = $10
    • White chips = $1
  • Chips are for game play only and have no cash value outside of the event.
  • If a player runs out of chips, additional chips may be purchased to continue playing.
  • Players may cash out and stop playing at any time during the event.
 

Game Objective

The goal of Low Ball is to win rounds by having the lowest number during each round of play.
 

How a Round Works

Each round has a designated cost (example: Round 1 may cost $5). Players place the required amount in chips at the top of the table to enter the round. Once paid in, each player receives club tickets for that round. Players review their tickets and determine their number. Players go around the table announcing their number. The player with the lowest number wins the round. After each round, all tickets from the previous round are collected and discarded before the next round begins.
 

Winning a Round

  • The winner of the round collects all payouts or holders for that round.
  • Because each round uses a club ticket system with unique numbers, ties do not occur.
 

Continued Play

  • Rounds continue with varying costs as determined by the organizers.
  • The game continues until the tip jar goes off.
  • The player holding the ticket for that jar when it goes off wins the jar.
  • When a jar is won, the payout is issued in poker chips.
  • Winners may cash in their chips whenever they are ready.
  • Players must have sufficient chips to enter each round.
 

General Rules & Conduct

  • All decisions by event organizers are final.
  • Players are expected to play respectfully and follow instructions from game officials.
  • No refunds once the game has started.
  • Chips and tickets may not be shared between players.
 

Acknowledgment

By participating in Low Ball, players acknowledge that they understand and agree to these rules.
